Anne Durand

Anne Durand (1992) is a doctoral candidate. Her research focuses on the impacts of the increasing digitalisation in transport services, from public transport to Special Transport Services (transport for people with a mobility impairment) and smart mobility services. She is interested in the consequences of digital transformations on people’s mobility and social inclusion, with particular attention to people who might not be ready to follow the pace of such transformations.

Anne conducts her research from the KiM (Netherlands Institute for Transport Policy Analysis) in The Hague where she has been working as a researcher since September 2017. As a KiM researcher, Anne conducts studies that serve as input for the preparation of mobility policies at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and is therefore directly involved with policymakers. Besides her PhD research, she is involved in research projects on MaaS, public transport and Special Transport Services, where the travellers’ perspective is often central.

Anne holds a MSc in Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics (cum laude) from TU Delft. Her master thesis project involved developing a framework to assess and improve the management of disruptions in rail-bound urban transport systems from the perspective of passengers. Anne also holds a MSc in General Engineering, specialized in Applied Mathematics from the École Centrale de Marseille (France).
