María J. Alonso González

Maria was a PhD researcher in the Smart Public Transport Lab of TU Delft, who earned her doctoral degree on July 16th 2020. Her PhD project involved the forecast and evaluation of new mobility services. In particular, she focused on (sub)urban Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) (which includes both shared ride-hailing and microtransit). In her research, she took the passenger perspective and analyses the usage of these services in relation to scheduled public transport, as well as the expected usage in an integrated network. Her research interests also include Mobility as a Service (MaaS), as full integration of the existing mobility services.

Maria has a Master’s level Double Degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), with special focus on transportation. Previous to joining TU Delft, she worked internationally in the transportation construction sector.
